The switch has a self-locking electrical contact assembly (300) comprising a mobile conducting unit (301) and a hollow envelope (302) that are connected to respective electrical terminals e.g. phase conductors. A pyrotechnic actuator (200) has a conducting jack body (202) provided with units electrically connected to one of electrical terminals. An electrical connection unit (207) maintains a permanent electrical contact between the jack body and a mobile needle (201) displaced in the body. A semi liquid dielectric is provided with a silicon gel. An independent claim is also included for a protection assembly protecting an electrical installation against internal arcs and connecting a set of electrical bars to earth.
