Provided are a mechanical arm, engineering machinery, and a method for determining the position of an arm section of the mechanical arm. The mechanical arm comprises: slope angle sensors (25, 26) mounted on the arm sections of the mechanical arm, the slope angle sensors being used to detect the slope angles of the arm sections (21, 22) at the slope angle sensors and being mounted in the regions of the arm sections having the maximum flexivity deformation(DE, BF). The mechanical arm solves the problem of insufficient accuracy and high costs in detecting the slope angle of the arm sections of a mechanical arm in the prior art, and is therefore capable of obtaining the position of the arm sections of the mechanical arm accurately and at low cost.
