The invention relates to a series of experimental methodologies based on the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), to be used in the characterisation of the most important parameters of polymeric dispersions. The invention relates to a series of experimental methods which for the first time have been applied to elastomeric latex and which can be used to obtain a complete characterisation of the solid content of the latex and the evolution of the material during the pre-vulcanisation (latex state) and post-vulcanisation process, as well as a full description of the structure of the elastomeric networks generated during these transformation processes (i.e. the number of cross-links, the spatial distribution thereof and the content of elastically inactive network defects).
