PURPOSE: A social network system for connecting a multi-dimensional code and a social network service and an information providing method thereof are provided to supply targeted content by utilizing metadata of a user together with information included in a multi-dimensional code depending on the user who recognizes the multi-dimensional code. CONSTITUTION: An information receiving unit(1010) receives a multi-dimensional code recognized by a user terminal. An information maintenance unit(1020) connects the multi-dimensional code and a user of the user terminal. The information maintenance unit stores and maintains the multi-dimensional code as history information. A relation confirmation unit(1030) confirms whether or not the user has a relation with other user.
