PURPOSE: A service automatic launching method of CPE(Customer Premise Equipment) using a CWMP(CPE WAN Management Protocol) and an apparatus thereof are provided to remotely launch a service by an installation manager of a service provider, thereby reducing additional costs and time for launching the service.;CONSTITUTION: A user installs a management target device at home and turns on the power, and then an initial setting state of the management target device is executed(200). The management target device executes a basic ACS(Auto Configuration Server)(22) and session setting using device information previously stored inside about the basic ACS(210). After setting a session, the management target device transmits an inform request message to the basic ACS(230). The basic ACS transmits an inform response message to the management target device(240). The basic ACS informs the management target device of the address information of an actual ACS(24) which the management target device needs to access(250). The management target device stores the address of the actual ACS received from the basic ACS and transmits a response message to the basic ACS(260).
