PURPOSE: A reactive power compensation control device for securing dynamic reserve reactive power and a control method thereof are provided to maintain the bus voltage of a power system in a proper range by automatically aid controlling a parallel type FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) device and phase modifying equipment.;CONSTITUTION: An input part(271) receives a reactive power reserve value, a reference voltage value, a limit voltage value, and the state information of transformer equipment. A calculating part(273) calculates the set voltage value of a FACTS device and the control value of the circuit breaker of phase modifying equipment. A determining part(275) determines the reliability of state information and whether a power system is broken down for determining whether to control the FACTS device and the phase modifying equipment with the calculated set voltage value of the FACTS device and the control value of the circuit breaker of the phase modifying equipment.
