PURPOSE: A power storage system operation device and a method thereof are provided to maximize the profit of a power storage system operated by being linked with a power system, by variably determining a capacity for participating in an energy market and assistance service supply, and establishing a charging and discharging strategy for the capacity for participating in the energy market.;CONSTITUTION: A power storage system operation device(200) receives at least one among compensation unit price information for a system operation assistance service for each time slot, compensation unit price information of an energy market, power generation information of a power plant, and power demand information, from a power system operation device(300) operated by Korea Power Exchange(S410). The power storage system operation device determines the capacity of a system operation assistance service providing part for maximizing the operation profit of a power storage system(100), and the capacity of an energy market participation service providing part, by using at least one among the compensation unit price information for a system operation assistance service, compensation unit price information of an energy market, power generation information of a power plant, and power demand information(S420). The power storage system operation device determines the bidding amount of an energy market for each time slot for maximizing the operation profit(S430). The power storage system operation device establishes a charging and discharging plan of the system operation assistance service providing part and a charging and discharging plan of the energy market participation service providing part, according to the bidding amount for each time slot calculated by using formula 1(S440). The power storage operation device controls the amount of charging and discharging of the power storage system, according to the charging and discharging plan of the system operation assistance service providing part and the charging and discharging plan of the energy market participation service providing part, which are determined at the step S440 and in accordance with the bidding amount for each time slot(S450).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013;[Reference numerals] (S410) Power storage system operation device(200) receives at least one among compensation unit price information for a system operation assistance service for each time slot, compensation unit price information of an energy market, power generation information of a power plant, and power demand information, from a power system operation device(300) operated by Korea Power Exchange; (S420) Power storage system operation device(200) determines the capacity of a system operation assistance service providing part for maximizing the operation profit of a power storage system(100), and the capacity of an energy market participation service providing part, by using at least one among the compensation unit price information for a system operation assistance service, compensation unit price information of an energy market, power generation information of a power plant, and power demand information; (S430) Power storage system operation device(200) determines the bidding amount of an energy market for each time slot for maximizing the operation profit; (S440) Power storage system operation device(200) establishes a charging and discharging plan of the system operation assistance service providing part and a charging and discharging plan of the energy market participation service providing part, according to the bidding amount for each time slot calculated by using formula (1); (S450) Power storage operation device(200) controls the amount of charging and discharging of the power storage system(100), according to the charging and discharging plan of the system operation assistance service providing part and the charging and discharging plan of the energy market participation service providing part, in accordance with the bidding amount for each time slot determined at step S440;
