PURPOSE: A halotolerant Rhizobium sp. which is isolated from a root nodule of Vicia villosa Roth is provided to be used as an active ingredient of an inoculant when using Vicia villosa Roth under a high salinity condition. CONSTITUTION: A halotolerant Rhizobium sp. is isolated from a root nodule of Vicia villosa Roth has and a root nodule forming ability, a nitrogen fixing ability, and halophilism. The strain is deposited in a deposit number KCTC12024BP or KCTC12025BP. The strain has halotolerance under the presence of 0.3-1 (w/v)% of NaCl. An inoculant of a root nodule for promoting plant growth contains the strain or a culture thereof.
