PURPOSE: A fuel viscosity control system of a main boiler and a method thereof are provided to maintain fuel viscosity in the predetermined viscosity in sudden boiler load change by applying a boiler fuel flow rate value to viscosity and temperature control and by performing proportion, integral, and differential control.;CONSTITUTION: A fuel viscosity control system for a main boiler comprises a viscosity sensor(102), first and second temperature sensors(101,103), a flow rate sensor(104), a viscosity controller(106), and a temperature controller(107). The viscosity sensor is included in a front fuel supply line of the main boiler and senses viscosity of a fuel. The first and second temperature sensors are included in the rear or the front of a fuel heater increasing temperature of the fuel to a predetermined level and sense the temperature of the fuel passing through the fuel heater and an inflow fuel. The flow rate sensor senses the flow rate of the inflow fuel. The viscosity controller controls a steam control valve controlling steam amount supplied to the fuel heater according to the viscosity and the flow rate.
