SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISM MARKER FOR DIAGNOSIS OF ECONOMIC TRAITS IN CATTLE AND METHOD OF DIAGNOSING ECONOMIC TRAITS IN CATTLE USING THE SAME MARKER

PURPOSE: An SNP(single nucleotide polymorphism) marker for diagnosing economic traits of Hanwoo(Korean beef) is provided to improve economic traits of beef, to produce high quality beef, and to enable consumers to enjoy high quality beef. CONSTITUTION: An SNP marker for diagnosing economic traits of beef contains a polynucleotide containing 421th nucleotide of sequence number 1 or a complementary polynucleotide thereof. The economic traits are selected from a group consisting of marbling score, backfat thickness, carcass weight, and unsaturated fatty acid content. The genotype of 421th nucleotide is CC. A method for diagnosing economic traits of beef comprises a step of identifying genotype of 421th nucleotide.
