PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a renal disease comprising schizandrin, gomisin, or the extract of Schisandra chinensis including the same as an active ingredient is provided to be used as the pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating the renal disease or used as a food product for preventing or improving the renal disease in that the composition is obtained from natural materials and is free of cytotoxic materials.;CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a renal disease comprises: schizandrin, gomisin, and the extract of Schisandra chinensis as an active ingredient. The extract of Schisandra chinensis is an alcohol extract, and the concentration of the extract is 1ng/ml-100mg/ml. The concentration of schizandrin is 10μM-100μ, and the concentration of gomisin is 1nM-50μM. The renal disease is a diabetic nephropathy.
