PURPOSE: A ship location identification system and a method thereof are provided to enhance the accuracy of the ship location identification by cross-estimating the relative location of a ship through multiple location identification devices.;CONSTITUTION: A ship location identification system includes a location identification device (100) and a radar device (200). The location identification device is fixed on the sea or to a buoy on the sea, receives radar signals from a ship, and loads the unique identification information onto the received radar signals to transmit the information as reflective waves. The radar device is mounted on the ship and identifies the relative location of the ship from the location identification device based on the unique identification information included in the received reflective waves.
