PURPOSE: A therapeutic agent containing Hsp90 inhibitors for treating liver diseases is provided to effectively treat liver diseases. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating liver diseases caused by a hepatitis virus infection containing a Hsp90 inhibitor as an active ingredient. The Hsp90 inhibitor contains low molecular compounds, antibodies, antisense oligonucleotide, siRNA, shRNA, miRNA, and polypeptides. A method for screening materials for treating liver diseases comprises: a step of providing Hsp90 and HBV core proteins; a step of contacting a test material with proteins; and a step of detecting interaction between Hsp90 and HBV core proteins.
