PURPOSE: An anti-cancer composition containing Oryza sativa or germinated Oryza sativa extract is provided to suppress proliferation of various cancer cells and to be used as a pharmaceutical or functional food composition. CONSTITUTION: An anti-cancer composition contains Oryza sativa or germinated Oryza sativa extract as an active ingredient. The extract is isolated using water, anhydrous or hydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, acetone, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, or 1,3-butylene glycol. The extract is a fraction prepared using hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, or butanol. The composition is a pharmaceutical composition or food composition.
