PURPOSE: A flux for removing magnesium impurity from molten aluminium or aluminium alloy and a method for removing magnesium impurity from molten aluminium or aluminium alloy using the same are provided to remove the need for a separate melting process because of the melting point of a flux lower than the temperature of molten metal. CONSTITUTION: A flux for removing magnesium impurity from molten aluminium or aluminium alloy comprises 60-100 weight% of a eutectic mixture of metal fluoride. The metal fluoride includes first metal fluoride and second metal fluoride different from the first metal fluoride. The melting point of one or both of the first and second metal fluoride is 800C or higher, and the melting point of the eutectic mixture is 700C or lower. The metal fluoride of the eutectic mixture includes two or more selected from the group consisting of AlF3, Na3AlF6, KAlF4, K2AlF5, K3AlF6, NaF, KF, Na2SiF6, and K2SiF6.
