FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: method of detecting and assessing contamination of rivers with heavy metals and toxic elements is based on use of SRTM2 space radar mapping results and creating relative and absolute variations of concentrations of pollutant elements of the selected water area, creating a bitmap file of flow directions based on a dem file and a file of accumulation of water streams, which is used to refine the position of sampling points.;EFFECT: high efficiency of detecting and imaging areas of a water system contaminated by heavy metals and toxic elements in places which are hard to reach.;2 dwg
