The arrangement has a region (10), in which cows (K) are run around, have free access to feedyards (11) and drinking troughs (12), and lie in boxes (13). Another region (20) is provided with an automatic milking system (21) for sequential voluntary milking of the cows. A third region (30) e.g. straw region, is designed for long-term stay of 10 percentage of a number of the cows, and includes an area of 50 square m for the automatic milking system for the cows. A gate (22) i.e. pendulum gate, is provided between the former and the latter regions and between the third and latter regions.
