The device applies generated magnetic signal to a patient (20), where the magnetic signal includes temporal characteristics with gradual increase of magnetic field strength. Strength of the magnetic field lies between 0 to 150 microtesla and/or increase increment of the field strength lies between 2 to 60 microtesla, where time intervals between the increase steps lie between 5 to 8 seconds. An applicator e.g. mat (10), includes conductor coils (12, 14) that are positionable at the patient such that the magnetic field produced by the coils acts on the patient. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a magnetic signal.
