The assembly has a multi-part housing in which a valve element (16) with a first planar sealing region (18) and a seat for sealing region are arranged. The seat has a sheet metal seal (26) enclosing an exhaust gas flow-through channel (12) in the housing by a second sealing region that is resiliently flexible in its axial direction. The second sealing region sealingly lies on a housing-fixed sealing surface and the first sealing region in a closed position of the valve element. The second sealing region consists of metal and comprises resiliently flexible properties under operation conditions.
