The method involves coordinating coastal protection- and/or scour protective measures in a testing region (10) of a wave channel (1). The coordination of the measures is detected. Fluid motion in a direction of the measures is repeatedly influenced. Fluid motion in another direction of the measures is repeatedly influenced based on the influence of the fluid motion in the former direction. The coordination of the measures is re-detected between changes of the directions of the fluid motions. Fluid is removed from the testing region between the changes of the directions of the fluid motions. An independent claim is also included for a device for testing effectiveness of coastal protection- and/or scour protective measures in a variable wave- and/or flow direction.
