Supplying thermal energy into a process device (22) to be processed in a food-technology process plant (2), comprises extracting thermal energy from a low temperature fluid flow (3) using a heat pump (4), and transferring the thermal energy extracted from the heat pump, directly or indirectly to the process device. An independent claim is also included for a heat supply system of a food technology process plant, for carrying out the above method.
