The assembly has an electromagnetic actuating unit (3) actuating a hydraulic camshaft adjusting device (2) connected with a control valve (4). The electromagnetic actuating unit comprises a coil (5) and an armature (6) that is displaceable in longitudinal direction of a cam shaft (1). The cam shaft is formed from two shaft parts (1a, 1b) that are arranged in the longitudinal direction, where the shaft parts are connected with each other at a connection section in a torque-proof manner, and the electromagnetic actuating unit is arranged at the connection section. The shaft parts are in tubular shape and the armature is in sleeve-shape.
