Foaming a cavity or an intermediate space comprises filling a reaction mixture comprising a liquid isocyanate component and a liquid component with isocyanate-reactive functional group in the cavity or intermediate space
Foaming a cavity or an intermediate space with a thermosetting foam comprises filling a reaction mixture comprising a liquid isocyanate component (B) and a liquid component (A) with isocyanate-reactive functional groups without any partitioning structure in the cavity from a metallic and/or fiber-reinforced polymeric material or in the intermediate space between the layer from metallic and/or polymeric material, where: the cavity or intermediate space partially or completely filled after the reaction. Foaming a cavity or an intermediate space with a thermosetting foam comprises filling a reaction mixture comprising a liquid isocyanate component (B) and a liquid component (A) with isocyanate-reactive functional groups without any partitioning structure in the cavity from a metallic and/or fiber-reinforced polymeric material or in the intermediate space between the layer from metallic and/or polymeric material, where: the cavity or intermediate space partially or completely filled after the reaction; the component (A) comprises 10-70 wt.% of at least one or more polyalkylene oxide with a hydroxy number of 10-100 mg potassium hydroxide/g, 0.05-5 wt.% of water and 3-7 wt.% of an adduct of carbon dioxide to an alkanolamine with an amino function and without secondary hydroxy groups and optionally catalyst, crosslinker and auxiliary agent or additives; the component (A) exhibits an average functionality of less than 2.3 and comprises 1-10 wt.% of polyester with a functionality of greater than 2.2; the component (B) has a viscosity of = 0.6 Pas at 25[deg] C, is free of plasticizer, monools, silicones and polymerizable olefins and comprises an isocyanate prepolymer based on polyol with a functionality of 2.2-6; and the ratio of the viscosity of the component (B) to the viscosity of the component (A) 0.25:1-2.5:1 at 20[deg] C. An independent claim is included for the cavity from a metallic and/or fiber-reinforced polymeric material or the intermediate space between the layer from metallic and/or polymeric material, which is partially or completely filled with thermosetting material, obtained by the above method, where the thermosetting plastic is from a reaction mixture of the component (B) and the component (A).
