The device (102) has a display element (206) with an interface for receiving a picture signal. A display panel generates a visual display based on the picture signal. A carrier frame (210) is provided with a support surface for the display element. An adhesive bond (208) made of hardened liquid adhesive i.e. emulsion bonding adhesive, connects the display element with the carrier frame. The adhesive bond is provided between the support surface and the display element. A light conductor i.e. backlight, is arranged within the carrier frame. A rear lid comprises bottom- and side walls. The adhesive bond is designed as a constant ring along an edge area of the display element. The display element is designed as a flat disk or plate. The liquid adhesive is applied in form of a sticking bead. The carrier frame is designed as an angle element. The adhesive bond is designed as a stripe. The display panel is designed as a LCD. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a display device for an information system for a vehicle.
