The charging device has a matrix converter (6) which converts first three-phase alternating current into second three-phase alternating current. A three-phase transformer (42) is connected in downstream of matrix converter to generate the third three-phase alternating current from second three-phase alternating current. A three-phase rectifier (23) is connected in downstream of three-phase transformer to convert third three-phase alternating current into direct current for charging the battery.
