The method involves recording or transmitting projection data set of computed tomography (CT) system (1). The CT image data set having a first resolution is reconstructed using analytical reconstruction algorithm. The motion field is determined using extreme value of image based on the motion-compensating reconstructed tomographic image data sets. The determined motion field is stored and outputted. An independent claim is included for dual source CT system.
