The network device (1) has a power output (7) and a network interface (3a), which is designed for transmitting data and for receiving the power (Pa) from the data network (2). Another network interface (3b,3x) is designed for transmitting data and for receiving the power (Pb,Pc) from the data network. A power combiner (6) combines the two power lines and provides as combined power (Pk) to the power output. The network interfaces are formed as Ethernetinterfaces. The former or the latter network interface is formed as Power over Ethernet. An independent claim is included for a fire alarm system with multiple signaling devices.
