The tester (9) has a receiver for a permanent magnet (1), a magnetic field sensor for the measurement of the asymmetry of the magnetic field and a display for the representation of the measured asymmetry. The permanent magnet is rotated around a rotational axis. The magnetic field sensor is arranged at a space from the receiver of the permanent magnet. The asymmetry of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet is detected with respect to the rotation axis of the receiver during rotation of the permanent magnet held in the receiver.
