Methane-rich gas is supplied to refrigerant and/or coolant mixture, cooled and liquefied. The methane-rich liquid is separated and stored in a storage container. The boil-off gas in the tank is partially liquefied. The methane-rich liquid is directly liquefied and compacted. The boil-off gas is compressed and separated, and methane-rich gas is cooled. The cooled boil-off gas is separated and low boiling component is separated and stored.
