The method involves determining an image e.g. computed tomography (CT) image, for imaging coordinates in a coordinate system i.e. world coordinate system, on other coordinates in another coordinate system i.e. two-dimensional coordinate system. The latter system is associated to an image plane of an optical system. A laser light point (2) is produced on the image. A point set representing information to be superimposed in the image produced by the optical system, is produced in the former system. Coordinates of points of the point set are imaged in the latter system using the determined image. The optical system is an endoscope and a microscope. An independent claim is also included for a device for representing an object.
