The measuring device has a supply wire for shielded cable with a plug, which is fixed with a connector on an insulated base plate. A shielded cable (3) is closed on a distal end or in the plug with a terminating resistor (11). The coupled alternating current voltage of a supply loop line is measured in the shielded cable near an end of the shielded cable with a network analyzer (6). The coupling resistance or attenuation is evaluated at the shielded cable. An independent claim is included by a measuring method for shielded cable, particularly high voltage power supply cable.
