The monitoring system has an acoustic sensor (5,6,7) per bed-place (2) for receiving the alarm sounds emitted by the acoustic alarm generators of the diagnosis- and therapy units (1) assigned to the bed-place. A reference acoustic sensor (4) is provided to receive a reference spatial sound inside the patient room (3) of the medicinal intensive care unit (19). An output unit is provided for displaying the bed place during the local alarm. An independent claim is included for a method for central monitoring of medicinal devices for a medicinal intensive care unit.
