The high volume low pressure (HVLP) spray painting system (1) has a HVLP spraying unit (2) equipped with a disposable cartridge (4). The disposable cartridge has a container (3), a cover, a seal and a liquid and sprayable paint (5). The sprayable paint is pre-stored in a receiving space (6) of the container of the disposable cartridge at the factory. The disposable cartridge has a sealing foil by which the paint is sealed in the container. The disposable cartridge is connectable to the spraying unit after removal of the cover. An independent claim is included for a high volume low pressure disposable cartridge.
