The method involves connecting a functional body function assistance device (2) to the body of a person (1) present in a vehicle. An emergency signal is emitted by the body function assistance device which carries information about a current or upcoming impact of the person. The emergency signal is received by an evaluating unit (3) arranged in the vehicle. The location of the person is controlled to be at the driver position by a controller. The evaluating unit generates a signal for the implementation of a preventive measure in response to the control result. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for realization of a preventive measure to prevent a dangerous situation in vehicular traffic, and for use in a motor vehicle, particularly in a passenger car.
