The method involves starting the press cycle after a die change, in which the required inputs such as desired course of axial temperature distribution of the bars, the desired course of press speed and the oil flow volume are estimated from the optimal data in the database based on the stamping position and the reference temperature of the profile at the outlet of the die. The estimation of inputs is carried out on one hand based on the optimal data collected in the database, referred to as product parameters, and on the other hand the optimal inputs belonging to the parameters. The predefined inputs are optimized and predetermined, the bar temperature is decreased at suitable time points and in the end of each cycle the inputs optimal at the time point are stored as optimal data in connection with the corresponding product parameters in the database.
