The method involves determining settings for parameter sets. The amount of energy required for driving the motor car (1) is detected based on the navigation destination using determined settings. A residual power quantity is calculated from the required amount of energy in the motor car and the available energy quantity. The navigation modes are generated for specific settings based on the calculated residual power quality for visualizing predicted residual range based on detected navigation objective in a navigation map.
