The apparatus has assignment function units (13,16) with mapping function for mapping the rotor asymmetry voltage respectively. A pressurizing device (12) is provided to pressurize the rotor asymmetry voltage with auxiliary variable estimated from phase shifted rotor position. A first integrator (14) is provided to integrate the applied voltage in asymmetry unit. A second integrator (15) is provided to integrate the integrated applied voltage in asymmetry unit by the first integrator, to obtain the rotor position of electric machine. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a motor system; and (2) method for determining rotor position of electric machine.
