The system has an endoscope (1) with a light source (2) to illuminate a spatial area, where a capturing unit (3) is provided and arranged to receive light emitted by the light source. A storage unit (4) stores signals generated by the capturing unit as two-dimensional image of the spatial area. A detection unit (8) detects the overexposed areas in the two-dimensional image of the spatial area, where an analyzing unit (10) tests whether the detected overexposure is a reflection of the light by an object in the spatial area based on a three-dimensional model of the spatial area. An independent claim is included for a method for stereoscopic display of images of an endoscope.
