The spectrometer arrangement (10) has light source (14) and diffraction grating (34). A transverse dispersion element (32) is set with dispersion direction transverse to dispersion direction of grating. The imaging optical system (28) is provided for generating two-dimensional spectrum of light source in picture plane (40). A detector (46) having several picture elements is provided for receiving the spectrum generated in picture plane provided with screen. The detector is provided sensitive in visible spectral region at which UV radiation is converted into visible light.
