The light source (12) has a deflection unit, a light guide in which transmitted light (14) is coupled, and a channel of light guide, set adjacent to convex side. The channel is filled with unmixed polar fluids having different refractive indices. Refractive index of a fluid is less than that of light guide so that transmitted light is totally reflected in adjacent portions of fluid. Refractive index of another fluid is equal to or greater than that of light guide, so that transmitted light is removed from decoupled areas of light guide, adjacent to the fluid. An independent claim is included for distance-measuring optoelectronic sensor.
