The system (50) has a redundant power supply (12) linked with a server-external supply conduit (25). A connector connects a server (10) to the server-external supply conduit and comprises an energy consumer (13) and a control circuit. The redundant power supply is separably connected with the energy consumer of the server over the server-external supply conduit by the control circuit. The control circuit is arranged in the server and formed to make a connection of the energy consumer to the server-external supply conduit in case of failure of an internal power supply (11) of the server.
