The turbine has a gear box (20) including an input shaft (22), which is connected with rotor blades of a rotor by a hub (40). A monitoring device (50) for damage monitoring i.e. oscillation monitoring, is arranged at the hub. A vibration sensor (52) e.g. piezoelectric sensor, is arranged at a rigid section of the hub, and detects vibrations of the hub in a tangential direction. An evaluation device (54) evaluates the detected vibrations. A supply line (60) for the monitoring device rotates with the hub, and supplies current to the monitoring device by angle adjustment of rotor blades. An independent claim is also included for a method for damage monitoring of a wind turbine by a monitoring device.
