The housing has a housing base body (1) with an inner chamber for receiving cell components (30) of individual alkali metal cell. A housing cover (2) closes an interior region of the housing base body, where the housing base body is made of plastic. A moderate temperature control channel (3) is formed in the housing base body, which includes doubled bases with an outer base section (1a) and an inner base section (1b). The control channel is formed between the outer base section and the inner base section. The housing base body includes doubled walls with outer and inner wall sections. The housing base body and housing cover comprise a vapor barrier layer that is selected from is a metallic, organic, polymeric or glass layer. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a galvanic cell.
