Ice block comprises water, polyol having 3-5C in a concentration of 0.1-4 wt.%, and water soluble coloring agents having a concentration of 0.5-100 mg/kg. Independent claims are included for: (1) a colorant additive in the form of aqueous solution for producing an ice block comprising applying an additive, in dilution ratio, in water, where the additive comprises water soluble coloring agents and polyol having 3-5C; (2) an ice block tray made of plastic material containing the additive; and (3) a process for producing an ice block comprising diluting the additive in water at a dilution ratio of 2-150, preferably 10.
