The unit (1) has a support (20) fixed on a back face (10) of a traction electric machine (2), where the support connects the unit to a frame of a vehicle. The back face of the electric machine comprises a cylindrical boss (12) that is arranged parallel to an axis of the traction electric machine. The support comprises a ring (38) that is tightened on the cylindrical boss. The ring of the support comprises two half-parts (30, 32) that adjust to each other according to a plane of a connection passing by an axis of the cylindrical boss. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling of a traction power unit.
