The method involves forming gripping tabs (12a, 12b) by peeling a portion of a tear fabric at a point of intersection between center edges (10a, 10b) and edges (4a-4d) of a composite material part i.e. structural part of an aircraft. The strips of the tear fabric is pulled by pulling the gripping tabs in a direction of edges of the structural part opposed to a central area of the structural part, so as to form a tear-off edge at an angle between 10 and 80 degrees with respect to a direction of a last fiber fold (2) of the structural part.
