The method involves obtaining an estimated position of vehicle and covariance matrix from a set of positioning measurements. A radius (MCEP) of an uncertainty circle (CM) is calculated, and the circle of uncertainty centered at the estimated position of aircraft is represented. The radius is obtained by a specific formula comprising parameters representing Eigen values of covariance matrix of the estimated position of aircraft and modified Bessel function of order 0 and 1. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a position of a vehicle on a monitoring screen.
