The invention relates to a method for processing uncertain information from a plurality of heterogeneous sources, adapted to be applied in an automatic decision support system based on uncertain information. The method of the invention makes it possible, based on a structured hierarchical model defining entities and relations between said entities, said entities being representative of the information to be merged, and a plurality of observations, each observation having a level of associated observation certainty, each observation consisting of information values corresponding to at least a part of the entities of said hierarchical structured model, obtaining (38) a plurality of merge sets, and calculating (40), for each merge set, an associated global certainty level taking into account the level of certainty of observation associated with each observation contributing to said merge set. The invention also relates to a method of decision support associated with the method of processing uncertain information.
