The method involves receiving digital radio signals by an auxiliary digital radio reception device (1), and transforming the digital radio signals into frequency modulation (FM) signals, where the FM signals are transmitted to a car radio (50). The FM signals are attenuated to a radio data system (RDS) format in case of defective reception of the digital radio signals, so that the FM signals are directly received by the car radio in the RDS format, where the signals in the RDS format include an identifier of a transmitting radio station. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for managing the reception of digital radio signals in a car radio equipped with a FM radio receiver (2) a computer readable recording medium storing a program for managing the reception of digital radio signals in a car radio equipped with a FM radio receiver.
