Method for automatic calculation of mass of soot present in particulate filter of exhaust line of internal combustion engine of car, involves calculating instant mass of soot by numerical integration of function
The method involves performing a series of iterations (22) for calculating spaced in time, and measuring an instantaneous differential pressure of exhaust gas between an inlet and an outlet of a particulate filter (32). The pressure difference determined by a polynomial of a volume flow function is calculated (34) depending on an instantaneous flow rate of the exhaust gas by an electronic computer. Mass of soot is identified during the preceding iteration. The instant mass of soot is calculated (36) by numerical integration of the function. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for regenerating a particle filter of an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine of a car (2) an electronic computer.
